About Just Andersen (1884-1943)
The Danish designer Just Andersen was a child of discretionary real time, the Danish edition of L'Art Nouveau and Art Nouveau. Just Andersen would create beauty and art comprehensible. He prepared tin and bronze pots, and he alternated between very imaginative and very simple. Just Andersen preferred material was originally called "poor man's silver", namely tin. He also invented the metal mixture "Disko metal". Disko Metal is an alloy of lead, tin and antimony and Just Andersen chose to name his invention after the Disko Bay in Greenland where he grew up. He started a production company with shop in Amager Torv in Copenhagen, and from 1930 he started an export production which quickly became very popular and was eventually exported handicrafts around the world. It was important for him to even the common man could obtain beautiful utensils - made makinelt - at an affordable price. Several of Jus Andersen things are represented at "Kunstindustrimuseet" in Copenhagen and other European museums. Just Andersen also participated in world exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, Paris and Barcelona.
